Package Overview:

This is a summary of our current benefits package. Subject to change; for more details, please contact the Human Resources department at the appropriate hospital.

Your Choice Benefits:

They're called Choice Benefits because that's what you get - a choice. Participation in the following programs is determined by your employment status; most require an employee contribution through payroll deduction.

Medical Coverage - Two plans are available including a PPO plan and a HMO plan.  The plans include prescription drugs and behavioral health coverage.

Life Insurance - An amount equal to you annual base salary is available at no cost to you.  You may also purchase additional coverage for yourself.

Long Term Disability - If you become totally disabled for longer than five months, Long Term Disability will pay up to either 50 or 60 percent of your salary, once criteria are met.

Long Term Care Insurance - This program pays for the daily care of employees or family members needing nursing home or assisted living care.

Dental Coverage - Two plans are available, including one Dental PPO plan and a Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO).

Dependent Life Insurance - If you want coverage, you have several amounts to choose from for coverage of a spouse and/or children.

Flexible Spending Accounts - Two plans are available to pay for certain healthcare and dependent care expenses with tax-free money.

Your Basic Benefits:

Retirement Programs - The HCA 401(k) Plan is a voluntary tax-deferred savings plan with matching contributions. All employees are eligible to enroll after two months of service. The new 401(k) Plan also offers a new dollar-for-dollar facility matching contributions on your contributions from 3% to 9% of pay - based on your years of service.

Paid Time Off (PTO) - This program pays you when you are away from work for vacations, holidays, short-term illness, and unexpected absences.  As a new full-time employee you can accumulate up to 20 days of PTO time a year.  Part-time employees who work at least 20 hours a week accrue up to ten days a year.

Extended Illness Bank (EIB) - As a full-time employee, you can accumulate up to nine days of EIB a year, 2.77 hours per pay period, for use if you are unable to work because of an extended medical condition.  Part-time employees accumulate 4.5 days of EIB a year; 1.38 hours per pay period.  (EIB pay begins after an employee misses five consecutive days of work).

Job Transfers - If you transfer to another Richmond Market facility and keep your same status, you will also keep your benefits and seniority.

Bereavement Leave - Full-time employees may receive up to 24 regularly scheduled hours off with pay for a death in the immediate family.

Employee Activities - Special activities and events are scheduled throughout the year for employees. Included are free meals on selected holidays, discounted tickets for movies, Car Pool car washes, amusement parks, recognition programs and service awards.

Fitness Club Membership - Discounted membership to Robious Sports and Fitness is available through payroll deduction.

Jury Duty - If you are called to jury duty on a scheduled work day, you will be paid for your time away from work.

Tuition Assistance - For approved courses, $3000 per year is available for full-time employees with at least 6 months of service.  Full-time employees with more than 2 years of service are eligible for up to $5250 per year.  Part-time employees with at least 6 months of service are eligible for up to $1000 per year. Part-time employees with at least 2 years of service are eligible for up to $2600 per year.

Other Benefits - These include discounts on purchases in the cafeteria and pharmacy, direct deposit, credit union membership, child care discounts, a scholarship program, and a student loan program.
